Weekly Update: May 13, 2023

May 14, 2023

Dear Families:

We have had an amazing month of May so far, and lots more activities to come. Please always check dates on this newsletter and save for your calendars. Sometimes social media and other newsletters may have an error which can cause confusion. A good example was the Brunch for Mom’s yesterday. It was never meant to be for the whole school – think about that- and how hurtful that may have been for students who have parents who cannot come to school because of work, etc. I corrected the misinformation many times- but still I got the question- even at the Brunch. However- it was a lovely event and great to spend time with moms.

Our Father/Daughter Dance was spectacular. Seeing the smiles on the girls faces as they walked in with dads and had their pictures taken was joyful. Thank you to our wonderful Room Parent crew who decorated the gym and transformed it into a magical place. Thanks to Mr Sama who did a great job with firing up the crowd with dances and games!!! And the food from our new Food Service people was delicious. The photographer will be posting the pictures he took- we will share soon.

And we will try and get an event on the books for moms and sons. As a mother of a son, I feel like that needs to happen as well!!!

This week we are administering the TerraNova assessment test in Grades K-6 on May 15, 16 and 17. Sending kids to school on time, after a good nights sleep and a good breakfast will go a long way to helping them do their best. They are sent in for scoring and when we get the results, parents will receive the reports. Again- they will be spread out throughout the day and lots of breaks and a light load will be scheduled for Mon-Weds.

This Friday, May 19th, Jeremy Griffus from Xploration will be spending the day and exploring STEM activities for every group of students on the Reynolds Day of Science. He will conclude with an exciting Laser Light show for the whole school!

I am attaching a flyer for the PMC Kids Ride being held June 4- in order to support Dana Farber and a cure for cancer. The Collins family will donate $40.00 for every Mount Rider. What a wonderful cause!

Check out our website calendar and keep it handy for June activities which are adding up.

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day everyone!

Best,

Dr Kirk
